Penn’s Political Science Department is experiencing a renaissance. Over the past decade, our faculty has grown by 50%, an increase in quantity that has been matched by gains in quality. The strength of our faculty in each of four major subfields is being built with an eye to excellence embracing a variety of approaches and methodologies.

Horowitz Testifies to House Subcommittee on Drones

Professor Michael C. Horowitz testified before the House Armed Services Committee Subcommittee on Seapower & Projection Forces about the role of carrier aviation in naval defense.      

PSCI Profs Discuss the Presidential Race

Wednesday a Knowledge by the Slice panel featuring professors Marc Meredith, Matthew Levendusky, Daniel Gillion, and Michele Margolis discussed the presidential race.      

Woodward-Burns in Polity

Graduate student Robinson Woodward-Burns' article entitled “Solitude Before Society: Emerson on Self-Reliance, Abolitionism, and Moral Suasion” was published in Polity.     

Levendusky Wins Erik Erikson Early Career Award

Professor Matthew Levendusky has been named the winner of the 2016 Erik Erikson Early Career Award by the International Society of Political Psychology. The Erikson Award is awarded annually to a leading political psychologist within 10 years of his/her Ph.D.
