Grad DCC: Experts, Ideas, and Policy

Feb 10, 2016 at - | College Hall, Room 209

This month’s Penn DCC Graduate Workshop Series papers examine the role of experts in shaping public policy and guiding public opinion. By shining a spotlight on policy wonks, demographers, and geographers, our presenters help us understand the cultures, ideologies, and histories of “expertise.”

Negar Razavi (Anthropology, UPenn):"'Off the Record and in the Loop': An Ethnography of the Washington Foreign Policy Establishment"

Kristian Taketomo (History, UPenn): "Urbanizationas Development: Modernization and 'The City' in Postwar America"

More information about the event is available on the DCC website (link).
