Ph.D. Candidate Mara Ostfeld was awarded an Honorable Mention for the 2013 Janet A. Harkness Student Paper Award from the World Association for Public Opinion Research. The Harkness Award honors the best paper by a student on the topic of cross-cultural public opinion research. Mara's paper, "Nuestro Idioma: Spanish-Language Media Effects on Latino Political Identity" explores how Spanish-language television has shaped the political beliefs of Latino viewers, and is based on her dissertation.
