Political Science senior James Sadler named Dean's Scholar

Political Science senior James Sadler has been named one of nine College undergraduate Dean's Scholars for 2012-2013. This award is given annually by the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences for outstanding academic achievement.

writing a senior thesis that investigates the causes of the 2012 standardized test score declines in Philadelphia public schools. His thesis is supervised by Professor Marc Meredith.

In addition to minoring in Urban Education and Hispanic Studies, James has taken on leadership roles in many student groups that work to improve educational opportunities for low-income students in Philadelphia. After graduating, James will be a high school Physics teacher in Philadelphia.
