Dr Suan’s research interests include asymmetric federalism, ethnonationalism, multiculturalism,citizenship, borderlands, government and politics in India, and Northeast India. He taught at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India for over eight years and is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, India. His postdoctoral research project examines asymmetric federalism and question of democratic justice in Northeast India. He is also working on a book project tentatively titled Identities, autonomy and patriotism in Northeast India.
