The Goldstone Forum is an annual lecture by leading figures in business, political and academic arenas. PPE students have the opportunity to meet privately with these speakers to discuss the legal, ethical, political and economic issues they are studying with people who are confronting these same issues in their work.

The speaker for 2009-10 will be Malcolm Gladwell.  He will speak on January 28, 2010. Further details will be announced later.

Mr. Gladwell is a prominent journalist, and public intellectual. He is also the author of the influential and best-selling books: The Tipping Point (2000), Blink (2005), and Outliers (2008).

Past Speakers:

2009: Paul Krugman

2008: Steve Levitt

2007: Dennis Thompson
2006: Robert Putnam
2005: Thomas Schelling
2004: Bruce Ackerman
2003: Gary Becker
2002: Cass Sunstein
2001: Ronald Dworkin

The Goldstone Forum is made possible by Steven F. Goldstone, former chairman of Nabisco Group Holdings and Penn graduate (C '67) in Political Science. The Goldstone Fund, created from his gift to the PPE program at Penn, supports endowed teaching fellowships for faculty from each of the three departments that participate in PPE, underwrite visiting lecturers and conferences, aids PPE majors who are conducting a major research project for their capstone seminar and provides for additional teaching assistants as the program continues to grow.
