Life after PPE
Our students go on to pursue a variety of careers after graduating with a PPE major. Management consulting, investment banking, public policy, and non-profit work are some of the sectors where our students have continued their lives since completing their majors. Most of our students go to graduate school, either right away or after a few years of work. Such studies are usually in the professional fields but a fair number of our students also go onto graduate programs in government and international development as well.
Because of its broad training and interdisciplinary focus, PPE is known to attract a lot of students who go to law school. Every year our students are well represented in the admissions to the top ranked law schools, and several recent graduates have gone on to Harvard, Yale, Columbia, NYU, Penn, and Berkeley. PPE offers an excellent education for those who want to study law, both in this country and outside. Career Services conducts a comprehensive survey of students after graduation, and this information is available here.
We are very interested in connecting with our alumni. PPE maintains a listserv which sends out email a couple of times a year about news of activities and accomplishments. To join this listserv, please contact us by email or phone (see the bottom of this page for contact information). The PPE Undergraduate Alumni Board also conducts an annual alumni event, and their contact details are available here
The videos below are of PPE alumni talking about how their education has affected their careers. We are indebted to Fernanda Dobal, class of 2012 and editor of the PPE student journal, for her help in the production of these vignettes.
