Research: Catalysts that are deposited or grown on ferroelectric surface might have different activities than "pure" ones. I conduct research on the effect of ferroelectric surfaces on catalysis; how does ferroelectricity affect the activity (e.g. activation barrier) of a supported catalyst. I also investigate, using DFT calculations and electronic structure models, the electronic properties of twisted graphene bilayers that are observed in epitaxial graphene on the SiC (0001) surface.
