Research in Christianity
Core faculty in Religious Studies who study and teach on Christianity include Anthea Butler, Ann Matter, and Annette Yoshiko Reed. Research and teaching on Christianity is enriched by resources in the departments of Art History, History, Comparative Literature, Sociology, and Anthropology. Graduate work on Christianity is typically pursued through the areas of Ancient Judaism and Christianity, Medieval Christianity, or American Religions. Applicants, however, can draw on the resources of the department and Graduate Group to propose exploring other themes or topics as well, including but not limited to gender and religion, the history of Christian biblical interpretation, and global Christianity.
