Research in Judaism
Religious Studies graduate students specializing in the study of Judaism are overseen by Annette Yoshiko Reed. Students who specialize in Second Temple and/or Late Antique Judaism also work closely with Prof. David Stern in NELC and draw on the resources of the Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies--including Associate Director Natalie Dohrmann as well as a rotating yearly group of 20 fellows from around the world. They also benefit from a lively interdisciplinary Program in Jewish Studies. The study of Judaism at Penn has special strengths in the history of biblical interpretation and in the intersections of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
