Alumni Census

Penn will be conducting its first alumni census in ten years using the services of Harris Publishing of White Plains, NY. At the end of March, questionnaires were sent to some 238,000 Penn graduates in more than 89 countries. Data will be used to compile an all-University alumni directory, which should be available by late 1998. "This is something alumni have been asking us to help them do for years," notes Alexis McCann, C'79, associate director of development information services and project manager of the census. The two-volume hardcover directory will cost $59.99 and will include password access to a regularly updated version online. In addition to directory information, the questionnaire will solicit alumni opinions about Penn and other matters, which will help to inform alumni relations' advocacy and communication activities.
