Senior Staff Relations Specialist, Dyan Anderson – Dyan’s role is to support and counsel management and staff in areas of conflict resolution, policy interpretation, compliance issues, and to provide staff development opportunities. Specific duties and responsibilities include providing counsel and guidance to faculty, administrators and staff members in understanding and working through workplace issues, overseeing compliance with FMLA and other leaves, guidance regarding the Flexible Work Options program and management of university’s PTO Management Tracking System.
Director of Human Resources, Patricia Burns – Pat’s role is to ensure that the department provides conscientious and quality service to faculty and staff; and to continually strengthen the human resources process. Pat is involved in all aspects of the Human Resources function in the School.
Human Resources Administrator, Carole Gurkaynak - Carole performs many Human Resource generalist functions including maintaining the HR database, providing basic benefits information, answering general policy inquiries, and handling recruitment needs for the School. Carole is responsible for classifying jobs, advertising (print and online), job postings, and acting as the Staff Affirmative Action Officer for the School. Compensation responsibilities include establishing salaries for new positions, reclassifications and salary adjustments, as well as trouble-shooting payroll problems. She also oversees temporary hiring for the School.
Human Resources Project Administrator, Rebecca Ross - Rebecca, having started in October of 2008, is the newest member of the SAS Human Resources Team. Previously, Rebecca was Human Resource Manager for People's Emergency Center where she handled all of the Human Resources functions for this non-profit organization including recruitment and hiring of staff, compliance, benefits administration and employee relations. Some of Rebecca's duties in her new role here in SAS include managing content and use of the SAS HR website, working in partnership with the Director of Human Resources on Human Resource related initiatives from the Administrative Policy Advisory Committee (APAC), working to improve some of the existing processes within the School such as the recruitment and onboarding of new staff hires, identifying new training opportunities and other Human Resource generalist functions.
