CORPORATE & NON-PROFIT LD: Corporate & Non-Profit Leadership: Balancing Entrepreneurship
Depart Philadelphia June 12th and return June 21st.
This course will involve travel and study in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. A fully functioning modern democracy, Seoul is one of the world's largest cities (population of over 10 million) and the 2010 World Design Capital with one of the world's most technologically advanced infrastructures. Yet there are many outstanding social issues and welfare needs among the population. We will study, therefore, the degree to which corporate and nonprofit foundations play a major role in meeting their own interests for growth and profitability as well as these social welfare development needs. We will also visit corporate and nonprofit foundations, and other organizations, meeting leaders. We will study with faculty, practitioners, and others within industry and associated with the Seoul National University to examine and learn about the work they undertake and how the entrepreneurship model can promote the "social good."
