Course Description: 

Can’t spend the summer in Alaska hunting wolverines? No problem. Join us in Napoleon Dynamite! This seminar will study the cult film Napoleon Dynamite from multiple disciplinary perspectives, including the social sciences, business, and film studies. During the first half of the semester you will complete several short exercises designed to give you practice in classic rhetorical strategies; the second half is structured around developing a functional research writing process, which will help you to excel in other Penn classes as well as in your future career. As a final project, you will write an involved research paper using advanced research methods. This is a hybrid course. The first half of the semester will meet on Penn’s campus. The second half will meet in a virtual classroom.

Fulfills the Writing Requirement for CAS, WH, EAS, NUR.  Does not count toward the writing requirement for LPS.
