Spanish 134 is an intermediate-level language course that emphasizes the development of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) within the Argentine cultural context. Class time focuses on communicative activities that combine grammatical concepts, relevant vocabulary and cultural themes. Students participate in paired, small group and class activities to practice linguistics skills in meaningful contexts. Major course goals include the acquisition of intermediate-level vocabulary, the controlled use of the past tense and the subjunctive mood as well as development of writing skills in texts of multiple paragraphs with transitions.
