Summer Sessions for Working Professionals
Penn Summer provides a flexible opportunity for working professionals to pursue professional development, dive into new academic pursuits, or prepare for graduate coursework. We offer a diverse array of interdisciplinary courses offered in the evenings or in fully-online format to accommodate work schedules, commutes, and busy lives. With three summer sessions, ranging from six to twelve weeks, Penn Summer allows professionals to individualize their pursuits and select an educational path that best meets their academic needs.
Courses & Credit
We offer more than 300 courses in a variety of disciplines within the School of Arts and Sciences, The Wharton School, and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Penn Summer courses are small, averaging ten to fifteen students, and are comprised of traditional Penn students, as well as visiting and international students from other colleges and universities. All courses are taught by Penn instructors and are offered in the day, evening, or online to ensure maximum flexibility. The academic credits completed through Penn Summer will appear on an official University of Pennsylvania transcript. Visiting students are permitted to register for undergraduate level courses (numbered 499 or below) in any of our three summer sessions. Professionals interested in graduate level coursework should consider our Non-Traditional Graduate Studies Program.
