Peter received a Masters in Technical Theatre and Design from the University of Michigan. He designs for a variety of professional groups in the Delaware Valley and is the resident designer of the InterAct Theatre Company. He is currently the Technical Advisor for Student Performing Arts on the Penn campus. Whinnery teaches Light and Set Design, Concepts of Stage Design, and Concepts of Lighting for the Theatre Arts Program. For the 1994-95 season, he was named one of the City's best lighting designers by the Philadelphia Inquirer.
