Students:
The Theatre Arts major at Penn attracts a diverse group of students, many of whom are double-majors. Recent majors have included Wharton and pre-med students, linguistics majors, as well as a number of English majors. Typically, Theatre Arts majors do have an intense interest in the theatre, both as an academic discipline and a lively art. Actors comprise the largest percentage of majors, but students also choose to focus on directing, designing, dramaturgy, and technical aspects of the theatre. Theatre Arts students often apply their studies within the program to work on student-run productions under the umbrella of Student Performing Arts.
