Curriculum Vitae

Education
I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy from Stony Brook University in 2005 and my Advanced Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies (also from Stony Brook) in 2004. My undergraduate years were spent at Colgate University where I majored in both Philosophy and Women's Studies.

Research Interests
My fields of interest include feminist theory, social and political philosophy, and queer theory. I am currently working on a project that examines contemporary claims of right and recognition as they are articulated in a legal-juridical context in modern liberal states. Through this research, I examine the disconnect between the emancipatory promise of rights and recognition and the freedoms and restrictions that gaining rights and recognition actually bring about for historically marginalized persons.
