From the West or North
Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 24, Valley Forge Interchange. Take I-
76 East (Schuylkill Expressway) approximately 17 miles to Exit 40, South Street to enter the campus.
Turn right onto South Street (a bridge at this point) to first stoplight (Convention Blvd). Museum is on left
between Convention Blvd and 33rd Street.
From the South
Take I-95 North to PA-291, Platt Bridge. Cross the Bridge onto Penrose Ave to 26th
Street and turn left to I-76 West (Schuylkill Expressway). Take I-76 West 3 miles to Exit 40, South
Street. Turn left onto South Street (a bridge at this point) to first stoplight (Convention Blvd). Museum is
on left between Convention Blvd and 33rd Street.
From the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76)
Exit at South Street. Turn west onto South Street (a bridge at this
point) to first stoplight (Convention Blvd). Museum is on left between Convention Blvd and 33rd Street.
From the Airport
Take the SEPTA train (every 30 minutes on the half hour) to the first stop (University
City/University of Pennsylvania); walk across street between parking decks to side entrance of the
Museum. Trip costs $5.00 and takes approximately 22 minutes. Limo service to the Penn Tower Hotel
(next door to Museum) is available for approximately $8 leaving every 20 min. (approx. 20 min ride).
Taxi will cost $20-30.
By Local Bus
SEPTA bus Nos. 21, 40, 42, 90, and 30 (from 30th Street Station). Also a short walk from
30th Street Station and the 34th Street exit of the Market-Frankford subway line.
From 30th Street Train Station (Amtrak)
Short 10 min. walk to University Museum. Walk to Drexel U.
on Market Street to 33rd. Turn left and walk to corner of 33rd and Spruce Streets where Museum is
located. Taxi costs approximately $6 and is approximately a 5 minute ride. SEPTA No. 30 Bus runs
from the station to campus (fare is $1.60 exact change). Walking not recommended at night.
Parking
Street parking is difficult to find and often has a 2 hour limit (strictly enforced). There is a football game
on Saturday afternoon which will make parking even more difficult. In the University City area, parking is
available in the two garages behind the Museum on Convention Blvd. (one is free standing building at
corner of South Street and 32nd Street; other is beside Penn Tower Hotel); rates are $7 and above.
Additional parking is located underground below the old Philadelphia Civic Center in front of Penn Tower
Hotel and U. of Penn Hospital for $6/day and at the corner of 34th and Chestnut Street for $6/day.
