A post-doctoral fellow is sought to begin in summer or fall 2013 to take a leadership role in an accelerated longitudinal study of character among youth aged 11 to 16 at baseline. The fellow will work closely with Dr. Angela Duckworth and two full-time research coordinators at the University of Pennsylvania to design, collect, and analyze self-report and informant-report data on dimensions of character and personality (e.g., self-control, empathy, honesty). An important aspect of the study is the development and validation of measures that attenuate response biases (e.g., acquiescence bias, reference group bias). Substantive expertise in these content areas is highly preferred, as well as prior publications employing advanced quantitative methods (particularly multi-level modeling, SEM) and experience working with adolescents and/or in school contexts. Position is contingent upon grant funding.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Please send CV, statement of interest (two pages maximum), 2 reprints/preprints, and at least 3 references to Jessica Dignam at pospsychpostdoc2013@gmail.com. The University of Pennsylvania is an EOE/Affirmative Action Employer.
