Edward J. Banigan
I am a postdoctoral fellow in Physics & Astronomy working with Professor John Marko at Northwestern University. I am also affiliated with the Center for Computation and Theory of Soft Materials.
My main research interest is in topics lying at the intersection of statistical physics and cell biology. My current research seeks to understand physical principles underlying cellular self-organization. I use analytical and computational methods to study 1) how enzymes and biopolymers may utilize chemical reactions to form higher-order structures and 2) how a few components of the cell nucleus control its morphology and mechanical response.
