El Kasneh

El Kasneh, the so-called "Treasury," was actually the tomb of a wealthy man or, perhaps, of a Nabatean prince, in the first century B.C.

Many remember this beautiful structure from the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), as the place in which the "Holy Grail" was guarded by a 700-year-old knight; Spielberg made its interior a labyrinth of huge rooms, vast chasms and deadly traps. Wouldn't they be disappointed to know that just beyond the enormous entrance is nothing more than an empty square room?
