Click the plus sign on the resultant window to add a new location, call it <em>&ldquo;AirPennNet&rdquo;.</em></p> <p>4. Choose the 802.1X tab, from the Advanced Network window.</p> <p>7. Click the plus sign at the bottom-left of the window to create a new User Profile, call it <em>&ldquo;AirPennNet&rdquo;.</em>&nbsp;&nbsp; </p> <p><a href="images/image5.png"><img src="images/image5.png" width="257" height="300" alt="AirPennNet" longdesc="images/image5.png"></a></p> <p>8. For the <em>&ldquo;User Name:&rdquo;</em> field, enter your PennKey, e.g.&nbsp;&nbsp; jasonrw</p> <p>9. The <em>&ldquo;Password:&rdquo;</em> is your PennKey password</p> <p>10. In the <em>&ldquo;Authentication:&rdquo;</em> section/box, un-check the <em>&ldquo;PEAP&rdquo;</em> box <em>(it is checked by default</em>)</p> <p>11. Highlight the <em>&ldquo;TTLS&rdquo;</em> check-box and click the <em>&ldquo;Configure&hellip;&rdquo;</em> button. </p> <p>12. Change the <em>&ldquo;TTLS Inner Authentication:&rdquo;</em> drop-down menu to PAP (it is set to MS-CHAP v2, by default).</p> <p>13. Enter <em>&ldquo;Anonymous&rdquo;</em> in the <em>&ldquo;Outer Identity:&rdquo;</em> dialog box.</p> <p><a href="images/image6.png"><img src="images/image6.png" width="431" height="159" longdesc="images/image6.png"></a></p> <p>14. At the bottom of the window, choose or type <em>&ldquo;AirPennNet&rdquo; </em>for the <em>&ldquo;Wireless Network:&rdquo;</em> field. The <em>&ldquo;Security Type:&rdquo;</em> needs to be set to <em>&ldquo;WPA2 Enterprise&rdquo;</em>. Back on the Network preferences window, choose <em>&ldquo;AirPennNet&rdquo;</em> from the <em>&ldquo;Network Name:&rdquo;</em> drop-down box. Further down you may need to click the <em>&ldquo;Connect&rdquo;</em> button under the <em>&ldquo;802.1X:&rdquo;</em> setting. The 802.1X section uses the user profile configured in step 7.</p> <p><a name="success"></a>16. A successful connection will result in the <em>&ldquo;Status:&rdquo;</em> reading<a name="_GoBack"><em>&ldquo;Connected&quot; </em></a>and an IP address beginning with either 128 or 165. The airport adapter may need to be toggled on/off to force a new connection attempt to AirPennNet. First-time connections to AirPennNet will produce a certificate prompt, asking for the certificate to be trusted and installed. Scroll down in the prompt and be sure the certificate is set to &quot;Always Trust&quot;.</p> <p><a href="images/image8.png"><img src="images/image8.png" width="511" height="371" longdesc="images/image8.png"></a></p> <h2><a name="troubleshooting"></a>Troubleshooting...</h2> <p>If the Mac is put to sleep, while connected to AirPennNet, it may not relinquish it's IP address. The access point, which helps provide the IP addresses, will reallocate that same address for use by another computer. Toggling the Airport off/on will force the Mac to get a new IP address.</p> <p>802.1X authentication prompt constantly appears... The 802.1X user profile cannot be found or used.
