I am currently a postdoc at the University of Pennsylvania in the PPE program. My research focuses generally on formal models of American politics with a special emphasis on the media.

There is a vast amount of academic attention devoted to understanding the political power of the ``Fourth Estate.'' This research points to a complicated, yet potentially very broad, effect of mass media. However, this literature rarely investigates or even addresses the incentives for a news organization. In my dissertation, I examined the market origins of media bias informed by both (formal) theoertical development as well as empirical analysis.

While I continue to do research in this area, I am also currently working on several other research projects that engage questions of issue selection in campaigns, confidence in political knowledge and the politics of disaster relief.
