Grading
check out Prof. van Erp's Grading Policy on his website
in short your numerical grade is from six equal parts
- each of three midterms counts for one part
- the final is worth two parts - or 1/3 of your mark
- Homework counts for the last part of your grade
- see your grades on blackboard
What about my letter grade? I'll explain that soon.
How is a Homework graded?
- Just like the tests.
- Three multplie choice questions
- No partial credit, but show your work: no credit for unsubstantiated answers
- 1 point for trying and three points for each of the
questions answered correctly
- We are not dropping any Homework grades
How is a Quiz graded?
- what quiz?
If I made a mistake grading your Homework tell me about it before you leave the room with it
Academic Integrity
Please familiarize yourself (i.e. read in full) with the University's Policy on Academic Integrity
What about Group Work/Study Groups?
- They are great, I'll help you set them up if you'd like
- Mathematics is a naturally collabrative endevor, CALC PARTIES are awesome
- Everyone should write up their own solutions
- Don't copy, it's wrong, it's weak, and it's no help for the exams
