Individual oral tutorial sessions

1.      Review: This part is similar to what you did last week. It should go more smoothly and faster this time.

Role play: you bought a pair of brown shoes in size____for $65.95. You do not like the color, and they are too big. You want to exchange for a smaller size in black or brown. Politely ask the salesperson in the store to help you exchange the item, and find out if you need to pay more.

2.      Have a conversation with your 老师 on weather. This is mostly a vocabulary building exercise. Try to use the vocabulary you have learned in class.

§  Which of the four seasons do you like and why?

§  What do you often do during each different season?

§  Describe what the weather is like in your hometown (家乡jiāxiāng). Use simple comparison (A B adj.) when you can.

§  Ask your老师2-3 questions about her hometown’s weather.

Homework: 1) Practice reading Dialogue 2 (TB p.240); 2) CWB pp.121-124 & p.125: crossword puzzle; 3) Study vocabulary: do "matching" on course website

Individual oral tutorial sessions

1.      Warm-up: answer some questions concerning the recent weather condition. Be aware of the usage of 会,change of status , completion of action , and try to use them when appropriate.

2.      Conversation:

§  Give detailed description of the weather in your hometown (家乡jiāxiāng). You should use “…,” “不但而且…,” and “虽然可是…” in your description.

§  Find out the climate of your老师’s hometown

§  Compare the weather conditions of your hometown with that of your 老师’s by using “” or “A B ()一样.” When applicable, give degrees of comparison.
