Ph.D., Department of Biology, Northeast Normal University, Changchun, China, 1982
Since 1982,I have been doing research work on vocal learning and vocal control mechanism of animals, which is supported by the National Nature Science Foundation of China. I worked with Dr.Wild, as a visiting scholar, in the Department of Anatomy at Auckland University, New Zealand during 1993. My interest focuses on the relationship between auditory pathways, respiratory pathways neural pathways and those involved in vocal learning. In addition, I also study sexual dimorphism of song control system.I hope to establish collaborative efforts with other laboratories studying the neural bases of song production and learning
