Progress Towards the Total Synthesis of Purpuromycin:
Investigating the total synthesis of the natural product purpuromycin. The key steps are a mild and efficient [3+2] nitrile oxide/olefin cycloaddition allowing for the coupling of the highly functionalized naphthalene and isocoumarin hemispheres and the subsequent spirocyclization of the two partners.
