Schematic aerial view of the Midas Mound, 1997. Entrance to chamber at bottom of picture (south). A forest of thistles thrives on the southeast side, lush grasses grow on the northwest side, sheep trails through the wild thyme are to the northeast, wild rue dominates the base of the east side.
