rectified drawing In 2004 I applied single point photogrammetry to the façade of the Kalekapı rupestral tomb. It is a technique not dissimilar to Richard Leonhard’s 1899 drawing and Hubertus von Gall’s 1962 sketch, both traced from photographs, except for the digital rectification of the photograph and the groundtruthing in 2006 of the resulting measured drawing. The technique is uniquely suited to the documentation of low relief and significant changes emerged in the reconstruction of the façade. I admit that the technique carries the same imperial gaze as Leonhard’s, but through a multi-sited interpretation where the tomb is understood as embodying a situated plurality I attempt to lessen the displacing effect of the gaze. drawing Leonhard, R. 1915.
