* If you cannot obtain a leather field notebook case from your home school, the course can loan them to you. However, there are a limited number of these; please let us know in advance to reserve one.

**Field notebooks should be bought early. Make certain field books are not over 5 x 8 inches, and the acid bottle is 1/2 oz. (15 ml) size, so that they will fit into a regular field case. Field-books with 10 x 10 graph paper on one side and lines & columns on the other are best. Others with all graph paper are also appropriate. (Do not bring a spiral binder type. They don't last long in the field.) About half the students in the past have used two notebooks. Check with your department for the best information on ordering such items or online at our suppliers website.

***Hammers, hand lenses, and scales can be purchased from various Suppliers. Check with your department for the best information on ordering such items or check online at our website. Sometimes your department can get a quantity discount on such things as field books.

Many items are not normally in stock at your bookstore. Most items are not available in Red Lodge.
