Yuhua Wang



I am an assistant professor of political science at the University of Pennsylvania. My research and teaching interests include political economy of development, authoritarian politics, East Asian political economy, Chinese politics, and American politics. I am the author of Tying the Autocrat’s Hands: The Rise of the Rule of Law in China (Cambridge University Press).

I received B.A. and M.A. from Peking University (Beijing, China) in 2003 and 2006 and Ph.D. in Political Science from University of Michigan in 2011.

Starting in July 2015, I will join the Department of Government at Harvard University as an assistant professor.
