David Rogoff is the co-director (with Penn alumna Sarah Kurnick) of the Punta Laguna Archaeological Project, in Punta Laguna, Mexico. The goals of that project are (1) to understand the relationship between the site's Postclassic Period occupants with their Classic Period predecessors, and (2) to develop a community-based archaeological project that is guided by the contemporary residents of Punta Laguna and generates tangible benefits for them. The Punta Laguna Archaeological Project has received funding from the National Geographic Society, American Philosophical Society, and Gerda Henkel Stiftung.
David is currently a visiting professor of sociology at Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC.
