Linguistic anthropology, nationalism, liberal multiculturalism, social movements, urban anthropology, indigeneity, multilingual speaking and teaching practices, educational institutions, ethnographic methods and writing, discourse analysis, Latin America, Ecuador I am writing my dissertation on the politics of Amerindian languages and intercultural bilingual education (EIB) in Ecuador. I primarily consider how directors of EIB navigate the paradoxes of producing an indigenous movement around the language Quichua, especially from inside the halls of state offices. Website:
