Configuring AirPennNet on macOS 10.12 and iOS 10

Due to issues with CA certificates and newer versions of Apple operating systems it will be necessary to reconfigure devices that have been upgraded to macOS 10.12.1 or iOS devices upgrades to iOS 10.1 to continue access AirPennNet. Click here for iPhone instructions.

On devices running macOS 10.12:

Remove your existing AirPennNet Profile by going to System Preferences>Profiles>and Select the AirPennNet Profile, either labeled Faculty/Staff/Guest or Student, and click the minus button to delete.


Reconnect to AirPennNet-Help and go to upenn.edu in a web browser.

You will see a red box on the top of the configuration page with a link to the configuration file for macOS.  Click the configuration file link to download the file and then double click the file to install.  Click Continue to begin the install:

Click Continue to confirm:

When prompted enter your Pennkey and Pennkey password and click install.

Once installed, select AirPennNet from your wireless dropdown menu:

and you will be reconnected to AirPennNet.

 

On devices running iOS 10:

Go to Settings>General>Profile and select the AirPennNet Faculty/Staff/Guest or Student profile and click Delete Profile.  You will be asked to enter your phone's passcode:

Reconnect to AirPennNet-Help by going to Settings>Wi-Fi. Open a web browser to upenn.edu:

You will see a red box on the top of the configuration page with a link to the configuration file for iOS 10.  Click on the configuration file link to begin the installation then click Install, you will be asked to enter your phone's passcode:

Click Install again:

You will be prompted to enter your Pennkey.  Click next and enter your Pennkey password, click next.

Then click Done.

Return to Settings>Wi-Fi and select AirPennNet and a check mark will show once you are reconnected.

Once connected to AirPennNet click on the blue circled i next to AirPennNet-Help and click on Forget This Network.  This will prevent AirPennNet-Help from trying to connect in the future.
