Balancing Research with Privacy & Security (Event on Oct. 20)

At noon on October 20, Penn's Office of Information Security is partnering with senior administrators and researchers at the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Nursing for a panel discussion on the security and privacy-related tools, challenges, and resources that come into play when conducting research at Penn.

This discussion will focus on the importance of maintaining an ongoing dialogue and close collaboration between Penn researchers and IT staff in meeting federal, state, and University data security and privacy requirements.

Panelists include Dr. Jose Bauermeister, Presidential Associate Professor of Nursing; Ms. Elizabeth Peloso, Associate Vice President/Associate Vice Provost, Office of Research Services; Dr. Stewart Varner, Price Lab for Digital Humanities Managing Director; Dr. Christine Brisson, Director of Information Security and Unix Systems at SAS Computing; Ms. Elizabeth Crutchley, Penn Infant Language Center Lab Manager.

Discussion begins at 12:00 noon. Light snacks will be provided, starting at 11:30. Due to space constraints, we must limit attendance to Penn faculty and staff. Please bring your PennCard with you to the event!
