PennO365 is a collaboration platform that provides a full-featured email system with integrated calendaring.

Key features of PennO365 include:

  • Convenient web and desktop access to your email and integrated calendar.
  • Full-featured web interface for accessing email and calendar (Outlook Web App), as well as email and integrated calendar compatibility with desktop email clients such as Microsoft Outlook and Apple Mail (Thunderbird for email only).

How do I create a PennO365 account?

Talk to your Local Support Provider (LSP), who will make the necessary arrangements.

How do I access my PennO365 account?

To access your PennO365 account you can go to https://outlook.office365.com. When signing into your PennO365 account on the web, remember that you are signing in using your Account Name (which is ) and your PennO365 password. Your email address remains unchanged and you will continue receive messages at your address, as well as sending as that address. PennO365 accounts just require sign-in with the Account Name.

How can I reset my PennO365 password?

Where are my folders in the PennO365 web interface?

To locate your account folders in the PennO365 web interface click More located under Folders in the left hand pane.  You will see more options appear and your name halfway down the pane.  Below your name will be Inbox. Click the dropdown triangle next to Inbox to see your folders.

How can I change the way things look in the PennO365 web interface?

To change the appearance of your PennO365 account you can click on the gear located in the top right of your screen. To make a change to the theme select Change Theme from the dropdown menu. To change the way your messages are displayed select Display Settings from the same menu.

How can I change the way my name appears when sending a message?

The way your name appears when sending a message from your PennO365 account is based on how your name is listed in the Penn Directory. To make a change to this you can go to the Directoryand log in by clicking Login in the top right corner.

How can I view my messages so they are not grouped in Conversations in Outlook?

How can I create Inbox Rules in PennO365?

It is recommended that you create rules in the PennO365 web interface so that the rules will be applied to all instances of your account whether you are using a mail client or mobile device.  Instructions for creating rules can be found here.

How can I set a vacation message in my PennO365 account?

To set a vacation message for your PennO365 account you can click on the gear located in the top right of your screen and select Automatic Replies.

How can I create a signature in my PennO365 account?

To create a signature in your PennO365 account you can click on the gear located in the top right of your screen and select Options>Mail>Layout>Email Signature.

What privacy protections are in place? Will people at Microsoft have access to my email?

Can I schedule meetings with faculty and staff outside of SAS?

Yes. You are able to schedule meetings with any users in any Penn organization that uses PennO365.

Does my PennO365 account allow me to install Office on my personal computer?

Yes, it does.  You have five Office 365 licenses to install the software on your personal machines.

Can I install Office 365 on my office machine?

No, you will want to contact your Local Support Provider if you are looking to upgrade Office on your office or any allocation machine.

How can I install Office 365 from my PennO365 account?

 Office 365 ProPlus is intended for installation on personal computers only and should not be self-installed on University-managed computers. For questions about installing Office on a University-managed computer, contact your LSP.  To install Office 365 ProPlus on a personal computer see here.
