Join us for an installment in the Book Talk branch of our Africana Lectures Series that could transform your view of Black Power.
Independent scholar Dr. Errol Henderson will come to speak on his book The Revolution Will Not Be Theorized: Cultural Revolution in the Black Power Era. The book studies the revolutionary theory of the Black Power Movement in the 1960s through ‘70s, (including Malcolm's OAAU, RAM, Us, the Panthers, the RNA, the Congress of African Peoples, the Shrine of the Black Madonna, and the League of Revolutionary Black Workers) placing it within the broader social theory of black revolution in the United States since the nineteenth century.
The book is available to read for free here, through the TOME Initiative.
This is a hosted by the Center of Africana Studies.
