A Symposium in Honor of Roger D. Abrahams

Welcome to the SOUNDING BOARD, our pre-conference cyber forum.

We've asked some of the participants from the Center's first two conferences to strike some opening chords--meditations, ruminations, arguments and other short disquisitions on current trends, issues, problems, and possible directions for the field of folklore.

You are invited to respond. You'll see a strike a chord button at the end of each opening chord: just press the button for instructions on how to reply.

We'll post your responses and counter-responses as they come in. Themes and issues that emerge here will form the basis for sessions at the "live" symposium, March 22-23, on the University of Pennsylvania campus.
