 In keeping with our year long theme, "Black Studies in the Diaspora," BCSC is hosting a Film Screening of the documentary, Mariannes Noires along with Dinner & Discussion with the film's co-director, Dr. Mame-Fatou Niang on February 8th at 5:30pm. Please Email RSVP (for dinner) by January 31. 

Dr. Mame-Fatou Niang is an assistant professor of French and Francophone Studies at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research focuses on contemporary France, Sub-Saharan Africa, Postcolonial and Transnational Studies. She also explores the formations of race, gender and Afro-French identity.  In 2015, she co-directed the documentary film, Mariannes Noires. The film explores the identities and experiences of seven Afro-French women unearthing what it means to be Black in France.
