Liliane Weissberg has joined the international academic council of the Zentrum für Buchwissenschaft: Buchforschung, Verlagswirtschaft, Digitale Medien. The Center for Book History and Research was founded this month at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, in cooperation with the Bavarian State Library and many other German institutions. Under the directorship of Professor Christine Haug, the Center will draw on a group of German and international scholars to pursue research projects on book publication and material texts. The Center was inaugurated on June 19 with a formal ceremony (Festakt), and a lecture by Penn's own Roger Chartier.
