GSWS Grad Mary Zaborskis Lands Great Job at Vanderbilt!

Our own Mary Zaborskis is joining the Women's and Gender Studies Program at Vanderbilt University as a Senior Lecturer this fall. Mary earned her PhD in English and in addition to being a GSWS certificate student, she served as GSWS Graduate Associate from 2015-2017. Mary helped organize the graduate colloquium series, pedagogy seminars, and the overwhelmingly successful "Protest" graduate conference. She was a 2015 recipient of the Phyllis Rackin Graduate Fellowship for Feminist Scholarship, and she used this fellowship to conduct archival research on childhood sexuality in Progressive Era institutions for her dissertation, "Erotics of Education: Queering Children in Nineteenth- and Twentieth-Century Boarding Schools." Mary taught Gender & Society and Introduction to Queer Studies for GSWS, and her teaching was recently recognized with a Dean's Award for Distinguished Teaching by Graduate Students. She is thrilled for this next step but will miss the GSWS/APC community dearly!
