ITAL685 - TESTI, CO-TESTI E CON-TESTI NELLA LETTERATURA ITALIANA - VENTESIMO SECOLO

Section Description: 
The course will cover a survey of significant Italian writers of the Twentieth Century, in relation to the critical and culturla climate in which they wrote. A specific realization of a national “modernism” will be explored to highlight local differences in relation to the European background and in the context of Italian “theoretical” discussions (Verga, Croce, Marinetti, Gramsci, Calvino, Pasolini). Novels will be read in the light of a theoretical frame of reading expressed by the figure of thought “co(n)text”, i.e., texts, contexts, cotexts. Deledda, Pirandello, Verga, Levi, Moravia, Gadda, Pasolini, will be analized together with more recent or less known authors such as, Messina, De Luca, Murgia, Tondelli and Santoro. The course aims at highlighting the specificity of an Italian modern literary tradition The course will be taught in Italian.
