Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, I graduated from Georgetown University with a BA in Italian Studies and Classics.

As part of my Italian Studies, I focused primarily on the 20th Century and linguistics. Throughout my studies, I focused on depictions of gender in modern Italian texts. As my final thesis, I wrote about gender-neutral language in Italian. As part of my Classics studies, I focused on Classical Greek philosophers, namely Plato.

My research interests are largely within the modern era, focusing primarily on modernist and postmodernist texts, linguistics and gender and sexuality studies.
