The James Joo-Jin Kim Program in Korean Studies awards a graduate student travel grant on a rolling basis, each in an amount up to $750, to assist graduate students at the University of Pennsylvania in any field of Korean Studies with the cost of attending a conference where they present a paper. Awards will be made on the basis of the competitively established merit of the proposals. In order to be considered for a grant, please submit a completed application form at least six weeks before the conference date. Grant applicants will be notified of the grant decision within two weeks after submission. Grant recipients will be reimbursed upon submitting all relevant receipts after completing the travel. *Note that grant recipients are required to present their paper (presented at the conference) for about 20 minutes in the Korean Studies Colloquium on April 16, 2020. Students may apply for only one Graduate Student Conference Travel Grant per Academic Year.
