Bryan Currinder, a Master of Environmental Studies student, took home the top prize in the Professional Master’s/Other category at the first annual Grad BEN Talks for his piece, “Conserving Freshwater Systems in Bangladesh and Bhutan through Biomonitoring.” The TED-style competition was launched on March 17 by the School of Arts & Sciences. Winners were chosen by a panel of judges and were awarded a $500 prize.

Nora Lewis, Vice Dean for the College of Liberal and Professional Studies shared about the event, “There is impact and value in being able to translate and communicate [your research] to people who don’t have your background and level of expertise, and haven’t spent months or years thinking about a subject.”
