Anna Carapellotti (BA ’15) and Kate Samuelson (BA and MPA ’17 —expected) recently became recipients of the highly competitive Thouron Award—a graduate exchange scholarship program between the United Kingdom and the University of Pennsylvania. Both students hail from the College of Liberal and Professional Studies’ (LPS) Bachelor of Arts program.

Anna, a cognitive science major, is headed to the University of Belfast to earn a PhD in Psychology. Her research will examine the effects of dance therapy on patients with neurodegenerative disorders.

Kate is also graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from LPS as well as a Master of Public Administration from the Fels Institute of Government. She spent last summer at the University of Cambridge where she studied NGOs in Central America dedicated to pediatric cancer research.
