Keith Hornbacher, MBA

Affiliated Faculty, Organizational Dynamics; Founder and Principal, Hornbacher Associates

Keith Hornbacher's subject matter expertise is resolving project uncertainty and risk via a probabilistic network and spreadsheet-based methods to integrate quantitative cost-schedule risk analysis. He has applied his methods across sectors ranging from space missions, energy extraction and transportation to commercial software development. Previously, Keith held the positions of Vice President and Managing Consultant in the firm that pioneered Monte Carlo simulation of project risks in aerospace/defense. There, his experience as a combat and commercial airline pilot directly applied.

Keith's work in the private and public sectors now ranges from $15 billion industrial capital expansion mega-projects to incubator-sized innovative startups. His research includes how to resolve competing needs for limited resources in organizations experiencing trade-offs inherent in predictive and adaptive project environments. Keith earned an MBA from Minnesota State University.
