With the passing of Justice Ginsberg last week, Hamilton reflected on the first two female Supreme Court Judges, what obstacles they surmounted, and what potential dangers lie ahead with the appointment of a new justice.

Successful post-baccalaureate society for women in health takes off at Penn

On Monday, September 24, 12 students in Penn’s Pre-Health Post-Baccalaureate Programs joined students from Penn Medicine for the Department of Surgery’s Operating Room Gowning and Scrubbing Orientation. This session, which was taught by perioperative staff members Maureen McCauley and Malcolm Waddell, is designed to prepare medical students to get clinical exposure by shadowing established surgeons on their rotations.

Master of Liberal Arts Virtual Capstone Event

The Capstone Forum gives Master of Liberal Arts graduates an opportunity to present their capstone research. The capstone project is the culmination of the MLA student's multidisciplinary graduate study at the University of Pennsylvania. By integrating two or more academic disciplines into a capstone project, each student reflects the mission of the MLA program itself: to provide a place for students to create their own graduate concentrations across the arts and sciences.

English Language Programs’ online course reaches 1 million enrollments

English for Career Development, an online course available since 2016, was created by Penn’s English Language Programs (ELP) with a grant provided by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Office of English Language Programs. The course was designed for non-native English speakers who are interested in advancing their careers in the global marketplace and helps participants strengthen their English language skills and vocabulary. On Monday, August 31, English for Career Development surpassed 1 million learners on the Coursera platform.
